Welcome to Lincoln Trail Elementary School

Welcome to Lincoln Trail Elementary, a school within the North Spencer County School Corporation!  We serve students in Preschool through Grade 6.  Our website features the latest web and eLearning platform to provide students, parents, and teachers with the best tools for success.

Our mission statement outlines what we hope to accomplish each and every day with our students: Inspire, Challenge, Achieve, Nurture.  These are more than just words, they are the desired objectives of all learning and to these, we commit our resources.

Take a minute to learn about school by exploring the website and following us on twitter @Lincoln_Trail.  We are updating/adding things to our website every week, so be sure and check in regularly.  Connected families are informed families!

What's Happening

We are proud of our Math Bowl teams! These terrific students worked hard to prepare for the competition and gave up a lot of recess time to improve their math skills. Mrs. Zollman’s finished in 2nd place and Mrs. Tempel’s team 3rd. Mrs. Collignon’s 4th graders also did well, and even beat some of the older teams.  Math Bowl

Miss Jones planned an awesome surprise for the students this week as part of disabilities awareness. Each grade was taught a "surprise" activity independent of each other. This morning in assembly, the students realized that while they had individually learned a part of a song, the entire school actually put their parts together for one really cool performance for the song "This is Me".
Students are proud of their differences!

March is Developmental Disabilities Awareness month. A whole month celebrating each other's differences, unique characteristics, and creating ways to support one another. Mrs. Kilbarger worked with our students to create individual flowers that when put together created a beautiful bouquet. If you're in the building, head over to the upper level hallway to check it out.

Our staff dressed up as their favorite book character today. See if you can name them all!

North Spencer started an archery club this year, and we are thrilled we have so many LT students participating! One of the things I love about North Spencer is all of the different extracurricular activities offered to students. There was a

Check out this video on YouTube featuring 4th graders from the North Spencer elementary schools sharing a little Lincoln knowledge just before President Lincoln’s birthday coming up on 2/12. The video will be shared on social media platforms by the Spencer County Visitors Bureau. Thank you to 4th grader Samuel Oberhausen, who represented LT!

gk Congratulations to Gabi Keller from Ms. Englert's 6th Grade Class! Gabi is the iPad winner for the Book Blast! You’ve all done a fabulous job of completing your Treasure Maps this past week. But remember, just because the iPad drawing is over doesn’t mean the Book Blast is over. Every student will earn at least one new, exciting book for your home library, but they have the chance to earn 10!  Plus, the top contributor in each grade will receive a $100 Shopping Spree with Books Are Fun and the top contributor in the school will receive a $200 Shopping Spree with Books Are Fun!  Right now, Addler Phillips in Mrs. Mullis's 1st Grade Class is leading the way as top contributor for the school, but Dakota Winkler in Mrs. Kincaid's 1st Grade Class is at a VERY close 2nd.  So, make sure to complete your Treasure Map this week if you haven’t already done so.

Congrats to 1st grader Teagan Winchell, 4th grader Piper Lytle, 2nd grader Ella Braun, and 2nd grade!  They were randomly selected as the treasure chest winners for the Book Blast!  Thank you parents for filling things out online. We are so thrilled to provide brand new books to every student in the school to keep and treasure as their own.

We had a great time at the Santa Claus Christmas parade last Saturday! We had a great turnout, even though the weather was pretty cold! We won a trophy for “Best Holiday Spirit!” Special thanks to Mrs. Beck’s husband Brad, who let us use the trailer for our float and put in a lot of hard work in getting it ready for the parade.
