What's Happening
Be sure you see the sign up form for an upcoming school dance/game party after school on Friday, March 24th! This is being sponsored by the LT Student Council, along with the help/guidance of Mrs. Windell, Ms. Fella, and Mrs. Vance. The cost is $5 per student, which includes a slice of pizza, bag of chips, and a drink. Students in grades KDG-6th are invited to attend. All proceeds will be donated to Special Olympics Indiana. What a fun way to kick off Spring Break!
Every year, students in the 5th and 6th grade have the opportunity to participate in the Optimist Speech Contest. Two students from each class were selected to go on to the school competition, which took place on Thursday. Public speaking remains one of the biggest fears, but these kids overcame any jitters and represented their class very well. I am very proud of all of them!
Classroom Winners: Kate Aldridge, Kendall Flannagan, Katelyn Cassidy, Anna Kilbarger, Grant Windell, Gabe Gengelbach, Will Flohr, and
McKenna Sitzman
Congratulations to 6th graders Anna Kilbarger & Katelyn Cassidy for placing as the top two! They will advance on to the regional competition on February 20!

Kindergarten Round Up
It is hard to believe it’s time to start thinking about Kindergarten and Preschool
Enrollment for next year! We will be sharing links to register online coming soon.
We are reserving the week of February 13-17 for assistance in registering, school
tours, and answering questions. To be eligible for Kindergarten in the fall, a child
must be five years of age on or before August 1, 2023. Children must be three (3)
years of age by August 1, 2023 to enroll in the Preschool and Daycare program.
When enrolling your child, we will need your child’s birth certificate, shot record,
social security number, and 2 forms of proof of residency.
The 5th & 6th grade teachers offered an optional writing contest to the students.
This DAR (Daughters of the American Revolution) contest required students to write
an essay as a member of one of the original 13 colonies. Congrats to these terrific
writers who all placed within Spencer County!

Two of our LT Lego Robotics teams were awarded trophies at the North Spencer Lego Tournament. LT came home with 2nd place in the team project award and 2nd place in robotics performance.
Grandparent's Day & Veteran's Day
We had a terrific Grandparents/Veteran’s Day last Friday! I appreciate everyone’s
patience with the parking. Thanks to the Santa Claus Police Department for helping
get everyone in and out of the school campus. I hope you heard good things from
your families that attended. The kids did an amazing job of running the program!
The Spencer County Leader featured us in this week’s newspaper. Check it out!
Special thanks to Tom & Terri Blue along with their grandson Reid, who got to see his
mom live on the computer screen during our program. If you missed anything,
